Q. Why is baptism necessary and so vital to our faith?
A. In John 3:5, Jesus stated a man must be born again of water and Spirit. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus told His disciples to go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name (Singular) of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. When the disciples obeyed this commandment, they understood that the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost was the covenant name of Jesus. Peter said in Acts 2:38 we must repent, be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of our sins and we would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Baptism in the book of Acts was administered in Jesus Name. Acts 4:12 summarizes that the name of Jesus is the only name that can save us. We must obey Jesus the way the disciples did. Have you been baptized in the saving name of Jesus? We would love to talk to you about it!
Q. What exactly is a Spirit filled church?
A. Just as Jesus emphasized being born again of water, He also said we must be born again of the Spirit, completing the new birth experience. Thankfully, are a Spirit filled, Spirit led church. In Acts 1, Jesus promised His disciples they would receive power after they received the Spirit. In Acts 2, the Bible tells us that the Spirit of God was poured out on those gathered in the upper room and they spoke in tongues as evidence of that outpouring. This marked the beginning of the church! Moving forward, the Spirit led the church as believers were continually Spirit filled, with the evidence being speaking in tongues (Acts 10, Acts 19). At Truth Church, this wonderful promise is still alive! If you have any questions regarding the Spirit, please do not hesitate to ask.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Come as you are! That is between you and God. If you have any questions about personal conviction, please do not hesitate to ask.
